Tech-Savvy Products That Won't Interfere with Your Decor

This post is a little more techie than my usual ones and truth be told, it was inspired by my techie husband. In today’s post I am going over some products that can help bring your home into the new age! Don’t worry, if you’re not that technically savvy it’s pretty painless, I assure you. They also don’t require a lot of loose cords-which is something I personally LOATHE.

One of the first things my husband and I added when we moved in our new house was an ecobee Smart Thermostat.

The ecobee includes room sensors that you can place in any room to the have the temperature balanced throughout your home. It can tell if someone is in the room and what the current temperature is so if you want it warmer/cooler when someone is home it can automatically make that adjustment for you. You can also control it from anywhere using your iPhone, iPad, etc. via an app. Or you can just talk to it through Siri or your favorite voice assistant.

Phillips Hue

The next tech-savvy home item we use is Phillips Hue, which is a way to manage your lights, turn them on and off, put them on a schedule, change hues, intensity, etc all via an app on your phone. So if you ever wanted to feel like a Light God here is your chance.

The two afore mentioned items work on the Apple Home Kit App which is my preferred smart home eco-system.

Apple Home Kit App

The Home Kit app allows you to access and control all your smart home devices. So you can adjust your ecobee thermostat and turn on and off your Phillips Hue lights in one app on your smartphone. My husband uses it religiously in our house.
