May's Mood Board Monday has a Touch of Hollywood Glam

This month’s mood board is one I did for my sister-in-law over @eatdrinkcat She has a very unique style and wanted something that was going to flow with her existing style and a few furniture pieces she already owned. Once piece in particular that she has and wanted included is this luscious, purple, velvet couch. It appears in a lot of her shoots and anyone can see why!

To help jush up her open floorplan, I wanted to add lots of textures and moody colors to give the space personality and warmth. Their living area is very open with lots of white , black and marble. It is beautiful, but these kinds of elements can seem cold and sterile if not decorated properly.

I suggested some retro inspired floral curtains with sophisticated accent chairs. Glamorous light fixtures that are reminiscent of the 1950’s Hollywood era add interest and and white bookshelves with cabinets add extra storage. The rug is a deep blue Persian style that brings out the blue in their already painted accent wall and fireplace. The combination of jewel tones fits well with their black kitchen cabinets that open out into the space.
