How to Decorate a Living Room for Easter on a Budget
Easter is fast approaching. If you’re looking for a way to liven up your current interior design, adding some unique indoor Easter décor is the perfect way to do so. Here are some of our favorite quality Easter decorations for anyone on a budget.
Unique Easter Décor
Easy Yarn Easter Eggs
This is a simple Easter craft that produces a unique result. To create these eggs, you need small balloons, pastel yarn, Mod Podge, and a paintbrush. Blow up the balloon and wrap it with your yarn of choice. Then, paint over the yard with glue (just like in paper-mâché). When the glue dries, pop the balloon for hallow eggs. You can prop them up as accents around your living room or string them together for a garland over your mantle.
Beaded Easter Egg Candle Holders
Do you want to add some pizzazz to your candle holders? Drill through plastic eggs, making the same size hole in the dowels you plan to use. Drill a matching hole in a wooden disc and insert the dowel. Add your paint of choice to both the wood and eggs. You can also paint your eggs with Mod Podge and roll them in seed beads.
Once everything is dry, slide your eggs onto the dowel and place another wood disc on top of the candle. This is a subtle yet unique touch that shows everyone you’ve been thinking about the upcoming holiday.

DIY Button Easter Egg Wall Art
Do you love switching out your wall art for the season? This is a simple DIY piece that will complement any other Easter décor you decide to put out. For this project, you’ll require a frame of your choice, card-stock, three different colors of buttons (in various sizes and shapes), hot glue, and an old toothbrush.
Print an egg pattern onto your white card-stock. The size of the egg should be suitable for the size of your frame. Then, arrange your buttons on the egg pattern to your liking. Hot glue these layers and use an old toothbrush to remove the strings of excess glue.
Upcycled Vases for Easter Flowers
This is an easy project where you use old clear glass bottles to make colorful vases. For best success, dry your bottles inside and out completely before painting. Then, fill a container with a little bit of acrylic craft paint and dip your bottles in it, roll them around to ensure the sides are coated completely. Dry completely and place colorful easter flowers inside.
DIY Easter Décor
Elegant Easter Egg Tree
This is a topiary tree formed out of eggs. Create a base out of a foam cone. Next, paint plastic craft eggs with chalky paint in various pastel shades. Allow them to dry, then glue the eggs on the foam cone and glue the strands of moss in and around them for a natural look. I recommend situating your topiary tree in a flowerpot or dish of your choosing.
Pretty Easter Egg Nest Centerpiece
Every Easter dinner needs a centerpiece. For a DIY approach, grow a container of cat grass and place it in a cute dish. Then, paint craft eggs with pastel chalky paint. Allow these to dry. For the most natural effect, speckle the eggs with brown paint using an old toothbrush. Layer the eggs on top of the grass, and you’re done! Everyone will love how natural yet festive this centerpiece looks.
