The Secret to a Great Bow and Scandinavian Holiday Wrapping Paper
I LOVE Christmas, I mean I LOVE it! I’m the type of person that sees nothing wrong with listening to Christmas music all year round (don’t judge me). I love the music, the lights, the decorations-it’s just all so festive!
So it’s really no surprise how much I enjoy wrapping presents. It stems from a family of artists and a dad who always had the most elaborate wrapped presents for us. I mean if there were an award for best wrapped present he would win every time. The secret is the bow-see most people can find cute wrapping paper but it’s how you dress up that wrapping paper-the ribbons and bows, that really make it a piece-de -resistance!
Every year I take great pride in picking out the perfect wrapping paper, finding matching ribbons and making bows or toppers that set it apart. This year I found the perfect paper at Cost Plus World Market - I love all their wrapping paper but my favorite this year is their Scandinavian Collection! (I am Viking by heritage you know.) The close runner up for my second favorite it their Christmas Caravan Floral Peacock collection. You can’t go wrong with either.
For the ribbons I like to find something a little whimsical and this pom pom ribbon did just the trick. I just can’t get over how much I love them! (I’m a sucker for a pom pom trimmed anything). Now the bow-I like to use something unexpected instead of an actual bow. In past years I have used buttons, ornaments, small toys (for kids presents) and this year I’m using some tree clippings from our yard’s evergreen.
Finishing it off are some cute matching name tags and you’ve got a festive wrapped present that should make anyone happy to receive it!
