5 Unique Christmas Tree Styles to Consider This Holiday
Now that we are officially in the first week of December and Thanksgiving is behind us, my husband is allowing me to decorate for Christmas. He is one of those traditionalists who is not having any Christmas Cheer until Dec. 1st! Bless him. While I have been slowly sneaking in some minor decor here and there, the tree does not go up until after Thanksgiving weekend-which means I am in full tree decorating mode this week!!! To kick things off I have collected some of my favorite inspirations below.
Consider Going Old School
As you know, I love all things retro and one of my favorite instagrammers to follow is Krys Melo @melodrama If you are not already following her you should! As soon as I saw here festive pink tree with vintage ornaments I fell in love and hard!
Collector’s Choice
Are you a hobbyist of some kind? A collector by choice? Why not play it up in your Christmas tree this year?! I love this idea by Quirk Books that uses books to create the actual tree! It’s perfect for any avid reader or literarian. If you are not that into books, consider incorporating your own hobby. Are you the self-appointed photographer in in your family? Use camera ornaments and polaroids of your favorite moments as additional tree trimmings. Get creative and turn your favorite past-times into a show stopping Christmas tree.
Bohemian Vibes
If you are a little more free-spirited and looking to get away from the classically old-world traditional styles, then Boho may be the way to go. This care-free non-traditional style favors the eclectic. My love of pom-poms has been a long running joke with my friends, so it is no surprise that I love this bohemian tree from Aunt Peaches. It is filled with tassles, pom-poms, an array of bright colors and I am here for it!
Not Your Average Evergreen
Who says you have to use a traditional evergreen? Artificial trees are just as popular as the real deal and if you have a family member that is allergic to that glorious Blue Spruce then you are pry just as familiar with the plastic variety as I am. Recently, however, I came across this idea from Hey Wanderer and love the idea of using a cactus. Don’t just stop there-why not consider other kinds of trees or plants to do the trick?
Space Saver
This idea is so space friendly. We all know how much room a tree, presents and additional decor can take up-especially in a smaller home. That is why I am loving this plywood Christmas tree that I spotted on HGTV. It not only takes up no additional floor space, but also incorporates the use of all those holiday cards you get-taking the mess out of not one but two Christmas items, and turning them into one efficient and decorative design!
How do you decorate your tree? No matter what style you choose you can not go wrong!
