Apartment Living-Non Permanent Wall Coverings
The last couple of months I have been living in NYC (which I LOVE!) but means I have left the comforts of my home and am renting a teeny tiny apartment in midtown. So, how do I incorporate style and design in a rented room? Below are some ways that I have gotten creative in the past and all are affordable DIY options you can incorporate into your own spaces!
If you want to add some character your walls, this pry the easiest method I have used. This particular decal I used in my NYC apartment and love it! It comes with 7 different decals that you can mix and match however you like. It pairs well on darker walls as shown and adds colors to a blank white one as well.
Tapestries are another great option if you have a blank wall you want to cover. They are unique, easy to hang and can cover a large area. You can get them in any style, color or size to match any room.
You know I love wallpaper and with so many great options in the removable or peel and stick variety you are sure to find something you love. Wallpaper is so easy now, gone are the days of messy glue! I just suggest trying a small section before doing your whole wall, especially if you are in an apartment. This particular print I used on a bookcase in my home, you can check it out HERE.
Of course there is always the traditional option of adding pictures or a gallery wall. But if you want to avoid all the holes in your walls I suggest using a template, like the one I suggest in this post. I am also a big fan of the removable 3M Hook. They now have a new adjustable option as well, for those that fear commitment or just want the freedom of choice.
