5 Fall Centerpiece Ideas that Anyone Can Create
Thanksgiving is nearly upon us which means lots of pumpkin pie and my grandma Hearn’s pecan pie recipe! (I’m big on the desserts.) My family does holidays BIG and I could not be happier for it! My mother has always been very festive and decorated for every holiday under the sun-but Thanksgiving has always been her favorite. Decorative table clothes (often sewn herself) with beautiful place settings and seasonal floral centerpieces (she’s also a floral designer) are sure to grace the table among lots of southern comfort foods. But for those of us not as gifted in the art of hospitality and show stopping dining rooms, I’m sharing some lavish centerpieces that take no effort at all.
This first one is from Julie Banner’s Blog and is so easy it can be done in under 5 mins! Depending on where you live, most of the items can even be scavenged from your backyard. (These pine cones are bringing back memories of my wedding when I made everyone in my family collect pine cones for centerpieces-we will never look at them the same again.) Mix pine cones greenery and oranges (or apples!) for an easy festive look. Add some candles for a warm glow and you’ve got proof that a decorated table does not have to be expensive or elaborate to be stunning.
Consider using a pumpkin as a vase and your focal point on the table. I love the non-traditional use of colors here with the white pumpkin. It still looks very festive with its dried branches and pinecones (again with the pinecones, I know.) You can find the full tutorial to re-create this look on A Pumpkin and Princess
I love the simplicity of this idea and how the only thing used really is wheat. All you need are some wheat stalks and vases to place the wheat in. In this example Patterns and Prosecco use white pitchers and create a modern contrast to the black candles and dinnerware. This idea, however, would work well in a variety of settings, you could even mix and match vases or pitchers for a pulled together eclectic look.
I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to share a thrift store inspire centerpiece. Look for old tins or containers to place flowers in for a truly unique and one of a kind table topper. This example uses old spice cans, which is just too perfect considering the holiday and its food centered theme!
Last but not least here is a super simple idea where all you need are some apples and tea lights. Cut out the tops, poke in a candle and Voila! You’ve got a gorgeous, glowing centerpiece (that also smells nice). You can read the full tutorial on My Garden Life.
However you choose to decorate, I hope that you and yours have a very Happy Thanksgiving and have much to be grateful for!
